XFF proudly presents the MUSIC for 2012:
LYDIA LUNCH
Raging raconteur Lydia Lunch along with brutarian sonic assassin Weasel Walter join forces in a unique one off performance
on 12/21/12 in Los Angeles at the Extreme Futurist Fest 2012.
Mistress of No Wave, Muse to The Cinema of Transgression and notorious for simply refusing to shut the fuck up, Lydia Lunch along
with multi-instrumentalist, chronic improviser, and all round sonic irritant Weasel Walter present the politically charged, sexually
propulsive SICK WITH DESIRE.
Award winning French filmmaker/video VJ pirate Elise Passavant, will illustrate the performance with her unique blend of the brutal
and the beautiful adding another layer of texture to this womb of sound, voice and shadow.
NEGATIVLAND
Since 1980, Negativland have been creating records, CDs, video, fine art, books, radio and live performance using appropriated sounds,
images, objects, and text. Mixing original materials and original music with things taken from corporately owned mass culture and the
world around them, Negativland re-arranges these found bits and pieces to make them say and suggest things that they never intended to.
In doing this kind of cultural archaeology and "culture jamming" (a term they coined way back in 1984), Negativland have been sued twice
for copyright infringement.
Over the years Negativland's "illegal" collage and appropriation based audio and visual works have touched on many things -
pranks, media hoaxes, advertising, media literacy, the evolving art of collage, the bizarre banality of suburban existence,
file sharing, intellectual property issues, wacky surrealism, evolving notions of art and ownership and law in a digital age,
and artistic and humorous observations of mass media and mass culture.
Negativland is interested in unusual noises and images (especially ones that are found close at hand), unusual ways to restructure
such things and combine them with their own music and art, and mass media transmissions which have become sources and subjects for
much of their work. Negativland covets insightful humor and wackiness from anywhere, low-tech approaches whenever possible, and vital
social targets of any kind. Foregoing ideological preaching, but interested in side effects, Negativland is like a subliminal cultural
sampling service concerned with making art about everything we aren't supposed to notice.

THE TLEILAXU MUSIC MACHINE
The Tleilaxu Music Machine is complex electronic music embedded in an immanent reality where technology has accelerated
the rate of data flow to dizzying extremes. Biomechanical unions are the norm, and disembodied journies through ultraspace
are an everyday occurrence. The proliferation of genetic modifications has spurred a revolutionary new sense of style in
all mediums, both purposefully and incidentally. True novelty is prized and rehashed cliches fail to stimulate. Detached
efficiency is intertwined with often desperate attempts at meaningful connection in the intricate dances played out between
individuals and society at large. The Tleilaxu Music Machine offers an aural glimpse into the chaotic energies of a future
that is rapidly becoming more and more distributed...
MANY OF ODD NATURE
Many of Odd Nature lives up to its name. The band draws from many influences including dark wave, industrial, gothic rock,
gothic cabaret, electro noir, and gothic metal, all with a theatrical twist. Charly Hatrik, the singer/songwriter at the heart
of the band, mixes digital beats with vintage and organic instruments to create a unique wellspring of pulsing dark and thoughtful
themes. Her beguiling original sound attracts fervent fans from many worlds and music genres. It’s the soundtrack of dreaming, the
persistent music your mind makes when secret doors are opened. Many of Odd Nature punctures the facade of everything typical and goes
past your ears straight to your cortex.
ANCIENT LASERS
Artists love to say their music has a message, but what happens when that message is "the Singularity is Near?" Musician
Daniel Finfer creates albums that explore the concepts and consequences of accelerating technology while still posessing
enough pop-music chops to make them accessible. Ancient Lasers has tracks with titles like "You in the Future" and "Replacing You."
On first listen they may sound like Finfer's singing to a girl, but lines like "I don't need you in the future" are about post-singularity
robots dismissing the need for humans. Pretty trippy stuff, and awesome to listen to.
MALFAKTOR
Malfaktor is an American experimental industrial metal band, formed in 2005. The current members are Doug Cheek
(founding member), Larry Orban III (founding member), Matt Hastings, Thomas Shoda, and Alex Castro. The first three
years of Malfaktor's career was spent honing in on their sound and fine-tuning their music and style. The tracks
created during that period became what would be their first album "The Delay of the Inevitable" and the entrance of Malfaktor to the world.
Their second album, 2009's Remix/Relapse, was a remix album consisting of remixes from the previous album. Remix/Relapse
contained a total of 15 tracks, with remixes from such artists as: Dismantled, C/A/T (Chaos And Terror), [syndika:zero],
Placid, and various other up-and-coming electro, goth, and industrial artists. Malfaktor has also remixed tracks for fellow
artists such as Jeremiah Saint and Cold Flesh Colony.
Malfaktor's third album, ABSØLUTE ZERØ, was released on December 9, 2011. They are currently in the studio working
on their fourth album, which will be released in either late 2012 or early 2013. Malfaktor looks to move forward
while annihilating infectious, viral stupidity... extinguishing guilt and fear where possible... all while creating
unique, heavy music for your ears!
TESLA
Tesla, a Harlem, New York based artist is not your average emcee. With topics that range from space travel to ending aging to
nanotechnology he aspires to educate others though his music and take his message of the future to a larger audience. His
influences range from Queen to Stereolab to Kraftwerk.
IAO CORE
Iao Core is an experimental Rock Band/ Media Terrorist Cell formed in San Francisco in 1987. Far outside the mainstream
(in terms of music and career path), they have released more than 20 albums, have a devoted worldwide following, and tour
frequently. Founding father Johannes Ayres fronts the current IAO Core and members include April Q Dawn, m.c. Schmidt and
Drew Daniels (Matmos) Kris Force (Amber Asylum). and an A.I. named Kore. Their music touches on classical, electronica,
post-industrial, speed metal with a distinctly experimental/avant-garde bent; Their lyrics are in fact superb: out of such
pockets light pours, conjuring spirits of an America both mysterious and obscene.
SID REDLIN
Internationally known artist and musician Sid Redlin has recorded for Elseproduct, Plague Recordings, Psychform, Placenta Recordings,
appeared on compilations with such luminaries as Nurse With Wound and Black Sun Productions, and has composed and performed works for
films. As a member of such diverse acts as Le Scrambled Debutante, Boron Nuzzle, Sista Mista, The Forget The Times Infinite Family
Arkestra, and other groups, Sid has made a name for himself as a live performer of challenging innovation and broad musical ability
playing shows with the likes of Richard Pinhas, Cock ESP, The Evolution Control Committee, and The Amino Acids among countless others.
His collaborations with Black Sun Productions, Wyrm, Problems That Fix Themselves, Surface Hoar, Mort Douce, Gregory Rapp, and Vacationers
are all infamous among collectors of obtuse sounds. His solo performances are characterized by a commitment to an improvisational spirit
coupled with electronic sounds and often strange or unexpected instrumentation, resulting in haunted dystopian audio sculptures which are
a special treat for the synesthetically inclined.

the music scenes of the Bay Area, Chicago, and Black Rock City, he plays an amalgam of breakbeats, glitches and future bass.
He can be found performing from LA to Tahoe, and is a resident of Hookahdome at Burning Man.
CYRANOID
Cyranoids are individuals whose words originate outside of their own nervous systems, according to clinical psychologist
Stanley Milgram, who coined the term in 1984. When singer/performance artist Rioma Drigan and synthesist/prorgrammer Mesh
Triarc borrowed this word in 2007, their intention was to create a band focused on the emergent boundaries of contemporary
life: between human and machine, state and subject, cloud and consciousness. We explore these shifting themes through
surprising live shows, provocative audio, and thoughtful media interventions.

FU5K4
Oscillation, equilibrium & chaos across space. This project depicts the inevitable merging of self-development, technology and nature
into audible fluctuations. The endeavor originates in the urban chaos of the mega-metropolis of Mexico City where the living relics of
Mesoamerican cultures and modernity reside.
With the aid of digital distribution, FU5K4 is played worldwide by deejays and subculture Internet radio stations.
Within digital journalism it has been featured in the Oontzcast and e-magazine Infektion. In film it will be scored in the
German/French art film "Verloren in Dolores" and published for TV/Film by Mighty Generation Music.
In August 2012 the album NaJay, word in Maya for satiated, is released. The album focuses on the ancient technologies of the soul.
Following the behavior of its title name (Fuska: Spanish vulgarism for a live fire weapon) the project will currently delve into the
realm of live performance.
